65. हिन्दू राजाओं के नाराज होने से हुमायूँ को भारत से भागना पड़ा!

 हुमायूँ अमरकोट के राजा की सेना को लेकर ठट्ठा के शासक मिर्जा शाह हुसैन पर चढ़ाई करने गया तथा मार्ग में जून नामक स्थान पर ठहरा। यहाँ से हुमायूँ ने ठट्ठा के अधीन क्षेत्रों पर अभियान किए किंतु हुमायूँ को सफलता नहीं मिली।

इस बीच हुमायूँ की आर्थिक स्थिति खराब होती जा रही थी। गुलबदन बेगम ने लिखा है- ‘हुमायूँ ने तर्दीबेग से सिक्का उधार मांगा। तर्दीबेग के पास बहुत सुवर्ण था। उसने दस में से दो के हिसाब से अस्सी हजार अशर्फी हुमायूँ को उधार दी। हुमायूँ ने इस पूरी राशि को अपनी सेना में बांट दिया। हुमायूँ की तरफ से राणा वीरसाल और उसके पुत्रों को कमरबंद और सरोपा दिया गया। बहुत से सिपाहियों ने नए घोड़े खरीद लिए।’

हुमायूँ की खराब होती जा रही आर्थिक स्थिति के कारण उसके मंत्रियों, सेनापतियों एवं अमीरों में अनुशासनहीनता बढ़ती जा रही थी। वे बात-बार पर झगड़ते थे और परस्पर मन-मुटाव के कारण हुमायूँ का साथ छोड़-छोड़कर थट्टा के शासक की शरण में पहुंचते जा रहे थे।

एक रात को राणा वीरसाल तथा हुमायूँ के सेनापति तर्दीबेग में कहा-सुनी हो गई। तर्दीबेग ने राणा वीरसाल का जमकर अपमान किया। यह एक अनपेक्षित स्थिति थी किंतु दुर्दैववश हुमायूँ इस स्थिति में ऐसा फंसा कि उसके जीवन में मुसीबतों का नया बवण्डर खड़ा हो गया।

अमरकोट के राजा ने हुमायूँ पर बहुत अहसान किए थे और जब भारत की धरती पर हुमायूँ को कोई पैर टिकाने की भी जगह नहीं देता था, तब राणा वीरसाल ने हुमायूँ को न केवल शरण दी थी अपितु बड़े प्रेम से उसके हरम की औरतों को अपने महलों में रखा था। इसलिए भाविक ही था कि राणा वीरसाल यह अपेक्षा करता कि हुमायूँ अपने मंत्री तर्दी बेग को दण्डित करे। इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं कि तर्दी बेग झगड़ालू तथा अनुशासनहीन व्यक्ति था और वह हुमायूँ को जोधपुर राज्य से निकलते समय हमीदा बानू के लिए घोड़ा देने के लिए भी मना कर चुका था किंतु हुमायूँ तर्दी बेग से कुछ भी कहने की स्थिति में नहीं था। इसके कई कारण थे।

तर्दी बेग हुमायूँ का पुराना साथी था, इसलिए हुमायूँ नहीं चाहता था कि उसके विरुद्ध कोई कार्यवाही की जाए। इस समय हुमायूँ के साथियों की संख्या छीजती जा रही थी, इस कारण भी हुमायूँ नहीं चाहता था कि मंत्रियों, बेगों एवं अमीरों को नाराज किया जाए। हुमायूँ के चुप रहने का एक बड़ा कारण यह भी था कि कुछ दिन पहले ही हुमायूँ ने तर्दी बेग से बहुत बड़ी रकम उधार ली थी ताकि हुमायूँ अपने सैनिकों एवं अन्य कर्मचारियों का वेतन चुका सके।

इन सब कारणों से हुमायूँ तर्दी बेग से कुछ नहीं कह सका तथा उसने राणा वीरसाल से अनुरोध किया कि वह इस झगड़े को यहीं समाप्त कर दे। जब हुमायूँ ने तर्दी बेग से कुछ नहीं कहा तो राणा वीरसाल हुमायूँ से नाराज होकर रात में ही अपने सैनिकों सहित अमरकोट के लिए रवाना हो गया। सोढ़ा, सूदमः और समीचा सरदार भी अपनी-अपनी सेनाएं लेकर चले गए।

जून में केवल हुमायूँ ही अपने हरम, अपने सैनिकों तथा असैनिक कर्मचारियों सहित रह गया। हिंदू राजाओं के जाते ही हुमायूँ के दुर्दिनों का नया अध्याय आरम्भ हो गया। हुमायूँ की खस्ता हालत देखकर और भी सैनिक हुमायूँ को छोड़कर शाह हुसैन की सेवा में चले गए। एक दिन मिर्जा तार्दी मुहम्मद खाँ और मुनइम खाँ के बीच कहा-सुनी हो गई जिससे मुनइम खाँ भी भाग गया। अब हुमायूँ के पास बहुत कम अमीर बच गए थे।

हिन्दू राजाओं एवं सरदारों के चले जाने के कारण अब हुमायूँ थट्टा के शासक के विरुद्ध कुछ भी करने की स्थिति में नहीं रह गया था। शाह मिर्जा हुसैन को हुमायूँ की इस दयनीय स्थिति के बारे में सब समाचार मिल रहे थे और वह किसी भी दिन आकर हुमायूँ को पकड़ सकता था।

अब हुमायूँ किंकर्त्तव्यविमूढ़ता की स्थिति में पहुंच गया था और उसे अपना वर्तमान एवं भविष्य दोनों ही अंधकारमय दिखाई दे रहे थे। उसे कोई रास्ता नहीं सूझ रहा था। अब शाह हुसैन अपनी नावें लेकर जून के काफी निकट आ गया था जिसके कारण दोनों पक्षों में संघर्ष की तीव्रता भी बढ़ गई थी।

एक दिन हुमायूँ का पुराना साथी मुल्ला ताजुद्दीन, शाह हुसैन की सेना से लड़ता हुआ मारा गया। इससे हुमायूँ को बड़ा झटका लगा। हुुमायूँ मुल्ला की बहुत इज्जत करता था और उसे विद्या का मोती कहता था। सौभाग्य से उसी दिन हुमायूँ को समाचार मिला कि गुजरात से बैराम खाँ बादशाह की सेवा में आ रहा है और जाज्का तक पहुंच गया है। हुमायूँ ने खंदग ऐशक आगा को बैराम खाँ को लिवा लाने के लिए भेजा।

जब थट्टा के शासक शाह हुसैन को ज्ञात हुआ कि बैराम खाँ आ रहा है तो शाह हुसैन ने बैराम खाँ को पकड़ने के लिए अपनी सेना भेजी। बैराम खाँ के पास भी एक सेना थी। इस कारण दोनों पक्षों में युद्ध हुआ और दोनों ही तरफ के बहुत से मनुष्य मारे गए। हुमायूँ का अमीर खंदग ऐशक आगा भी इस युद्ध में मारा गया। बैराम खाँ अपने सैनिकों सहित हुमायूँ की सेवा में उपस्थित हुआ। हुमायूँ ने बैराम खाँ का बड़ा स्वागत किया।

पाठकों को स्मरण होगा कि हम बैराम खाँ तथा उसके पूर्वजों का इतिहास पूर्व में विस्तार से बता चुके हैं। वह बाबर के साथ खुरासान से हिंदुस्तान आया था। जब हुमायूँ ने गुजरात विजय की थी तब बैराम खाँ ने भारी वीरता का प्रदर्शन करके मुगलों के बीच कुछ प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त की थी किंतु शीघ्र ही वह समय आने वाला था जब बैराम खाँ न केवल मुगलिया राजनीति में अपितु भारत की राजनीति में भी सर्वाधिक महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्ति बनने वाला था।

बैराम खाँ के आने से हुमायूँ को बहुत बड़ा सहारा मिल गया था किंतु अब भी उसकी स्थिति ऐसी नहीं हुई थी कि वह शाह हुसैन मिर्जा से मोर्चा ले सके अथवा हिंदुस्तान में कुछ दिन और ठहर सके।

हुमायूँ के तीनों भाई उसे छोड़कर अफगानिस्तान जा चके थे। शेर खाँ सूरी उसका राज्य छीन चुका था और अब सिंध एवं अमरकोट क्षेत्र के हिंदू राजाओं तथा सरदारों के नाराज होकर चले जाने के बाद हिंदुस्तान में हुमायूँ का कोई सहारा नहीं बचा था। हिंदुस्तान में राज्य जमाने की तो कौन कहे हुमायूँ का सिंध के रेगिस्तान में टिके रहना भी कठिन हो गया। उसके लिए हिंदुस्तान में एक-एक दिन भारी हो रहा था। उसने भारत से भागने का निश्चय कर लिया!
